New experiences for managing…
Platform modernization
On the backend of ShipCompliant, we’ve updated and upgraded our infrastructure with significant impacts on product stability and reliability. Specifically, we’re seeing an improvement in API uptime as well as greater ability to avoid and more quickly troubleshoot outages, should they occur — although, notably, already we have seen 30% better web portal performance. In the coming months, we will modernize our processing infrastructure to further enhance performance.
Speedier regulatory updates
As the regulatory landscape becomes more sophisticated, so does our product. We are accelerating the speed of implementing regulatory updates in ShipCompliant. With a new filing engine, our cadre of regulatory experts are empowered to more quickly implement regulatory changes in the product. While you won’t “see” these backend changes directly, what you will notice—besides the speedier reflection of regulatory updates in the product—is that updates on these regulatory changes are now also featured in the Release Notes section in Sovos Help.
Navigation and interface changes
We are redesigning the look and feel of all elements of the ShipCompliant solution. Our reskin of the entire platform introduces more modern fonts, colors and styles.
We are also reimagining the user experience across the product, to deliver more intuitive and seamless navigation within ShipCompliant.
First up, we have redefined the licenses functionality so that license set-up and management can be accomplished on one page, through a single workflow. We have also improved Solicitors management to enable easier edits and streamlined visibility into solicitor license statuses. Next up, we will update the experiences for managing state registrations, distributor information and report subscriptions.
From there, ShipCompliant users will also find a new state compliance landing page featuring a state map with clear color coding about compliance for both wholesale distribution and direct-to-consumer shipping. Within that page, users will be able to do everything they need to do to set-up and maintain compliance across the board. Finally, we will update the experiences for managing products, brands and labels within ShipCompliant.
This captures the scope of our current plans for ShipCompliant upgrades for now, but rest assured that we are committed to reimagining and refining the entire software product in service of providing an optimal user experience.
Yes, there are a few ways you can get up to speed, besides simply poking around in the product.
Stumped on something in particular? Our Support team is always available to help.
Nope, none. Sovos ShipCompliant is investing in our product for the benefit of all clients at no additional cost.
All ShipCompliant accounts will be automatically migrated to the new user experience. You’ll have time to get used to things, as we’re taking a phased approach, introducing changes to license management first, while other workflows remain the same for the time being. In addition, for a limited period users will be able to toggle between the “old” and new user experiences as they become familiar with the new experience.
If you need any help getting to know the upgraded platform, please see the resources listed in Question 1 above.
No, all updates will occur without disruption of service.
We’ll be continuing to invest in updates to workflows and other upgrades now through all of 2023 and beyond. Stay tuned to this page as well as notices within the ShipCompliant portal as improvements are rolled out.
